Adidas, one of Von Miller’s major commercial sponsors, said the Denver Broncos linebacker’s suspension won’t hurt its relationship with Miller.

Other sponsors, including Gatorade and Schomp BMW, aren’t talking.

“Von Miller has been a great partner of ours, and we look forward to continuing to work with him,” said Adidas spokesman Michael Ehrlich.

Miller was suspended by the National Football League for six regular-season games because of a drug-policy violation.

Calls to executives of Highlands Ranch-based Schomp BMW were not returned. The dealer last year posted a statement on its website saying that it was “proud to report that Von Miller … is driving one of our beautiful black 2012 X6 BMWs.”

It could not be determined last week whether Miller was still driving a Schomp vehicle.

The suspension is unlikely to cause major damage to his image and prospects for future endorsement deals, sports analysts said.

“I don’t think it has hurt his reputation so much that it’s irreparable,” said Michael McCann, director of the Sports and Entertainment Law Institute at the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

“Sponsors usually want to see if the damage is so bad that it reaches the level of being toxic,” McCann said. “I don’t think it has reached the level of it becoming radioactive.”

He said fans and sponsors are likely to have short memories if Miller plays well upon his return and the Broncos advance to the playoffs.

Brandon Brown, a professor of sport management at the University of Tampa, said he was surprised that Adidas did not drop Miller. He noted that Nike earlier this month ended its sponsorship of Milwaukee Brewers player Ryan Braun for use of performance-enhancing drugs.

“The fact that Adidas is sticking with (Miller) will really help him down the road,” Brown said.
