The only consolation for the BMW M3 is that the BMW M2 Gran Coupe (and the 2 Series Gran Coupe range in general) is still some way off. It's likely we won't see any four-door 2 Series models until 2019 at the very earliest: just in time for the mid-life refresh for the current 2 Series Coupe and Cabriolet ranges. By that time, it's actually probable that the current BMW 3 Series and 4 Series families might have been replaced - remember, the current 3 Series has been on sale for four years now, and BMW needs to respond to the far fresher Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Jaguar XE sooner rather than later. Either way, it's going to be very interesting to see how the current M3 and M2 Gran Coupe will compare and contrast with each other.
